Detection Dog Trials Seminars

Detection Dog Trials is a new sport being brought to North America which allows formally trained detection dogs to participate in scentwork style competitions. Teams are able to trial on the odor their dog is already trained on (i.e. narcotics, accelarants, cadaver, etc.) and gain titles and awards for their success! The following seminars are geared towards people who would like to certify to host a DDT, judge a DDT or just learn more about DDT.

Host/Judge Seminar: February 23-25, 2023

This seminar is geared towards people who are interested in becoming hosts and judges for DDT trials. All judges will be certified up to the intermediate level during this three-day seminar and be certified to host DDT's. Auditing is available for those who wish to understand how DDT trials are scored and judged. All applicants must be approved by the seminar host so please include your experience in detection, SAR, dog training, scent/nosework, and/or other relevant dog sporting or training events in your application. Registrants who pre-registered have been notified of their acceptance into this seminar.

Certification Spots: Unlimited certification spots, the first 8 may bring their dogs.

Mock Trial: February 26, 2023

See how your dog stacks up compared to the competition and get a feel for how DDT trials run. There will be no awards or points toward titles but scores and placements will be given.

Entry Limit: 50 Entries Maximum 

Pricing: $35 per entry

Official Premium and Entry forms will be published as part of the "mock trial." All registrants will need to complete the entry form in order to be officially entered in the Mock Trial.
